A Little Look at my Bucket List

buck·et list

  1. a number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime.

I got really excited when I saw this assignment! Honestly, I’ve never really sat down and said “hey, what are things that I would include on my bucket list?” I realized that I don’t actually have a bucket list. So an inspired Kaitlin decided to write down any little thing that came to my mind, I now have a list of about 70 different adventures and goals! However, there are only so many of them that I can share.

As I thought about the life I want to live as I age, the “where” aspect of it really stood out to me. Where I want to live is one of the most important things to me. Growing up, my favorite memories have always been at the beach. Living at the beach sounds like a dream, however, it may not be the most practical. Although it’s not necessarily the most practical place to live, it definitely deserves a spot on my bucket list. I would absolutely love to live right by the beach, even for just a short period of my life.

When I finished brainstorming the first item on my bucket list, 2 of the girls I live with got home and walked right by me. They were dressed in their gym gear, and discussing what different workouts they completed today. This got me thinking, I don’t really take the time to exercise and be healthy. I’ve decided that at some point in my life, I’d like to be fit enough to finish a marathon. I don’t care how many miles, or how long it takes me. I would just like to be able to say that I have completed a marathon.

On the subject of becoming fitter, I realized that my diet is not exactly all that healthy. Tonight I ate a whole slice of Benny’s pizza with a coke, something I’m not quite proud of. Recently, I’ve become really interested in adapting the vegan lifestyle. Maybe not for good, but it’s something that I would really like to try for a good few months. Why you ask? Well sometimes I do go days without meat and other animal products. And on those days I usually feel great, not sluggish and alert. I wonder, if this is something I continue every day, will I continue to feel great, or is it only something I can do every now and then? I plan on using youtube to help me transition to the vegan lifestyle. There are many daily “vloggers” that document their experiences to help one another. I plan on using this this video, among many others, to help my transition!

Lastly, I recently started reminiscing on a trip I took many years ago to Europe. I’ve always wanted to go back, especially to Italy. As I was searching for pictures of Italy to add to my collage for this assignment, this picture in particular popped up. imagesI realized that I have never actually visited this particular site in Italy. I have always seen the pictures of couples in love, taking a boat ride down this narrow stretch of water. I decided that during my honeymoon, my biggest goal is to ride a boat here with my new husband. It sounds like a perfect date!

Making this photo collage was really a piece of cake. I followed the directions on the assignment page, and went to Be Funky‘s website. Here, I just uploaded four pictures that I chose from Google, and overlaid text explaining what each of them were. That’s really it!
